Overnight Travel Required 

What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation, per MSHA and Vulcan standards.

Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment operating throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.

Inspect Equipment and Materials. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.

Handle and Move Objects. Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.

Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.

Operate Equipment. Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant as needed to ensure production continues efficiently.

Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Four to five years' experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Mechanical Skills. Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

License. A valid driver's license is required.

Travel. This role will be based out of Hanover, PA or Fredericksburg, VA and will travel up to 90% to Vulcan operations from New York to North Carolina. This role will utilize a company vehicle to be on the road approx. Monday-Friday, overnight stays required.
