JOB TITLE: 

Research Aide

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assist with local foods, tourism, and food safety research that help with the goals of the Jay Kemmerer WORTH Institute and Food & Nutrition project "Fresh, Local, Safe: Elevating Farm-to-Table & Agritourism." Activities may include: assisting in administering surveys and focus groups, data entry, interpreting survey and interview data, cataloging agritourism operations, and creating written and promotional materials. This role may also involve travel around the state to meet with key stakeholders. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)
  • Upperclassmen standing in Food & Nutrition, Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management, Agricultural Communications, or a related field
  • Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel overnight around the state
  • Experience with or willingness to learn survey administration, focus groups, and qualitative research methods.

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
