🔥 NIGHT-SHIFT MEDICAL SURGICAL RN CONTRACT – EAST TEXAS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) Registered Nurse (RN) in Athens, Texas. Operating within Med/Surg Floor 1 at UT Health Athens (Ardent Health Services), this position offers a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). If you are an acute care nurse skilled in adult and geriatric medical-surgical care, non-titrated cardiac drips, dysrhythmia interpretation, and Epic EMR, this assignment is built for you!

💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $1,545.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $825.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Block scheduling is not available.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation.
  • On-Call Requirements: Standby call rate is $5.00/hr ($65.00/hr call-back rate).
  • Clinical Scope & Patient Acuity: 36-bed Med/Surg unit with an average daily census of 30 patients. Ratios are 1:6 across all shifts. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure/COPD, pneumonia, acute kidney injury (AKI), urinary tract infections (UTI), chest pain, cellulitis, and altered mental status (AMS).
  • Clinical Skills: Dysrhythmia identification and monitoring, non-titrated cardiac drips, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line IV access/management.
  • Floating Requirements: Float required to related acute care units as needed.
  • EMR System: Epic EMR.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting required (travel experience required/preferred).
  • Licensure: Active Texas RN License or active Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly required in hand at submittal (no license hits accepted).
  • Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • County Residence Exclusion: UT Health strictly prohibits travelers residing in the following East Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.
  • Rehire Policy: Former staff members must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers.
