Company Overview: Established in California in 2013, Green Water and Power (GWP) has rapidly grown to operate in over 25 states, positioning itself as a leader in the sustainable energy sector. Ranked the #1 electric vehicle (EV) installer in America, we take pride in having deployed more than 10,000 EV chargers and completed approximately 5 megawatts (MW) of photovoltaic (PV) solar energy projects.

As an EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certified turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, we leverage our in-house expertise to efficiently manage and execute large-scale projects. Our dedication to sustainability and quality extends beyond project completion; we also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services to ensure optimal performance for the projects we develop, as well as for third-party installations.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior level Solar Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of commercial solar energy systems on roofs, ground mounts, and shade structures. This position offers a solid opportunity for those passionate about sustainable energy and looking to advance their career towards becoming a certified electrician or construction manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation of solar PV modules, mounting hardware, and racking components.
  • Connect solar modules in series "strings", install string homeruns, install inverters, conduits, wiring pulling, and ensure proper grounding and weatherproofing.
  • Follow all electrical and building code requirements, utility requirements, and GWP design, quality standards, and requirements.
  • Test installed systems to verify electrical output, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order and that the project site complies with all code and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment and the timely delivery to the job site.
  • Establish positive customer interactions by providing on-site contacts with updates on project status.
  • Manage, mentor, and train junior installers to ensure they remain on task throughout the workday.
  • Participate in company training sessions as required.
  • Complete any other assignments and special projects as requested by management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate building and safety inspections, document issues with inspections, and report back to construction management.

Qualifications and General Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/solar installation, construction, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the NEC, particularly Article 690, as well as local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong mechanical skills and experience with hand/power tools and electrical systems
  • Must be comfortable working at tall heights and climbing ladders throughout the day.
  • Proficient in electrical wiring, conductor sizing, conduit bending, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plan sets, product data sheets, and installation manuals.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Physically capable of lifting and maneuvering equipment up to 80 lbs.
  • Strong dedication to safety with a commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to operate in diverse environments (e.g., extreme temperatures, crawl spaces) and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience (DOE), ranging from $25 - $28 per hour.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits package.
  • Retirement savings plan.
  • Paid time off.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a rapidly expanding industry.
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity.
  • Paid training.

Additional Information:

  • Criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen.
