National Grid is hiring a Restoration Supervisor for our Gas Operations and Construction department in Albany, NY.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the oversight of Restoration Contractors working daily shifts within Upstate New York to ensure safe construction practices while performing paving and landscaping work. Manage assigned Restoration Inspectors to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks in line with municipal, department, and National Grid requirements. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30pm with some weekend and overnight shift requirements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor safety, performance, productivity and workload as needed to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure that all paving requirements are performed in accordance with Company standards and procedures, PSC Code requirements, OSHA, DOT and municipal rules & regulations. Ensure accurate reporting of work including SOP's, work order historical, daily completion reporting, sketches, Operations Qualification, etc.
  • Responsible for supervising Restoration Inspectors as well as external Restoration Contractor Crews.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices
  • NYS DOT Oversight - This role will include overnight work on DOT roadways to ensure contractors are completing work to DOT specifications and in a safe manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience with management of paving or landscaping work preferred.
  • Prior experience dealing with gas and/or electric customers and government officials to resolve conflicts to develop and maintain strong working relationships preferred
  • Experience working with engineering, construction & maintenance practices, gas utilization equipment and Federal, State, and Municipal Codes preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of NYS DOT specifications, as well as Construction Supervision on large scale projects preferred.
