An RN supervisor is commonly called a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager. They oversee nursing staff, coordinate patient care, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, often working in hospital or clinical settings with a registered nurse license and leadership skills.

What is the highest paid RN position?

The highest paid RN position is typically a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), who can earn significantly higher salaries due to advanced training and certification. CRNAs often work independently or alongside anesthesiologists in surgical and emergency settings, with salaries often exceeding $180,000 annually depending on experience and location.

What are the duties of a night nurse supervisor?

A night nurse supervisor oversees nursing staff during overnight shifts, ensuring patient care quality, safety, and compliance with healthcare regulations. They coordinate patient treatments, manage staff schedules, handle emergencies, and document incidents, often requiring strong leadership and clinical skills. The role typically involves monitoring patient conditions and supporting staff in a fast-paced environment.

What can I do as an RN that isn't bedside?

As an RN, you can pursue roles outside of bedside care such as case management, health education, nursing administration, research, or telehealth. These positions often require strong communication skills, clinical knowledge, and sometimes additional certifications or training. They typically involve working in office settings, clinics, or remotely, with regular schedules and less direct patient contact.
