The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts and may develop new customer service/product agreements. This position reports to the Area Service Manager and is part of the Hardware Solutions team, fully remote (based in North Carolina) to cover the Raleigh‐Durham area and surrounding areas of North Carolina. What you'll do: Technical: Meet the daily service repair needs of the customer's equipment by driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.
Perform basic troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance and repair, and manage spare parts inventory. Customer Service: Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure resolution and accurate follow‐up; utilize documented processes and root‐cause analysis to resolve issues and drive satisfaction. Lead Generation: Drive service business growth through sales actions for service agreements, parts, upgrades, consumables, and equipment leads.
Who you are: Education: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant degree in Biology, Chemistry or other STEM field. Equivalent military training or an associate's degree with 2+ years of work experience. Experience: Technical (preferred) – experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel – approximately 35% travel, including overnight within designated territory or locations. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Physical – ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lb and other physical requirements.
Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000 annually, with potential bonus and incentive pay. The role is eligible for remote work, with the expectation of up to 35% travel. Benefits: Comprehensive package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
