About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization seeking a Medical Billing Specialist with strong professional and facility billing experience. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented billing professional who understands complex claim packaging, insurance guidelines, and technical claim correction.

Job Description:

The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims to commercial and government payers. This position requires strong knowledge of CMS-1500 claim forms, insurance guidelines, claim packaging/bundling protocols, and resolving technical claim errors prior to submission.

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work during the first 90 days, followed by a structured hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and submit professional and facility claims for prompt reimbursement.
  • Identify and resolve claim “loader” errors prior to submission.
  • Work charge tasks and ensure all claim checklist requirements are cleared.
  • Ensure proper packaging/bundling of services per contract and payer guidelines.
  • File electronic and paper claims with appropriate documentation and attachments.
  • Research and correct invalid or rejected claims.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of filing activity and abnormal trends.
  • Perform data entry of CMS-1500 claims and reconcile daily charge reports.
  • Collaborate with providers and internal departments to ensure claim accuracy.
  • Maintain organized storage of claim batches, EOBs, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality standards.

Requirements:

  • CPC or CPC-A certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of recent medical billing experience.
  • Strong professional (profee) and facility billing experience required.
  • Experience working with CMS-1500 claims and packaging protocols.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT coding required.
  • Strong understanding of insurance guidelines and the patient registration process.
  • Experience correcting technical claim errors and working claim edits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and data entry systems.
  • Stable work history required (tenure is important).
  • Specialty experience in cardiology, radiology, or anesthesiology preferred but not required.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
