Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Harrisburg, PA
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Guaranteed 40 Hours Weekly | Overtime Available
Shift: 1st - 5am-3pm
           Mid - 9am-6pm
          2nd - 11pm-7am (Overnight)

Position Summary

Feeser's is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on diesel trucks, trailers, and refrigeration equipment.

Unlike many fleet shops, our focus is on quality repairs and preventative maintenance rather than high-volume production. Mechanics can expect a steady workload, guaranteed hours, and a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems

  • Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic software and tools

  • Repair or replace components including axles, bearings, hubs, lighting systems, and air brake components

  • Perform trailer inspections and repairs

  • Install and repair liftgates, reefer units, ramps, and aftermarket equipment

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records

  • Follow DOT and company safety standards

  • Work collaboratively with team members and ask for assistance when needed

Preferred Diagnostic Experience

Experience with any of the following systems is highly preferred:

  • JPRO

  • Cummins INSITE

  • Freightliner Diagnostic Software

  • Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Software

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-2 years of diesel mechanic experience required

  • 5-10 years of experience preferred for higher pay range

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and diagnostics

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Valid driver's license required

  • CDL is preferred but not required

  • PA Inspection License is preferred but not required
