Job description

Description:

Reefer Peterbilt is a second-generation family-owned full-service medium & heavy-duty truck dealership looking for a full-time Diesel Mechanic/Technician at our Auburn Hills location. This individual must be hard-working, self-motivated, and organized.


Responsibilities / Description:

  • Ability to perform troubleshooting/diagnostic testing and estimate repairs
  • Clock (post) time to each job performed, story causes and corrections on all repair orders, stating if parts replaced were new, used, or rebuilt,
  • Follow warranty procedures as set forth by management, i.e., pictures, measurements, tag parts, etc.…
  • Effectively perform maintenance inspections and determine when part replacement is necessary
  • Proficiently repair all major power and drive train components
  • Perform road tests to verify repairs were completed properly – dependent upon having a CDL
  • Contribute to the top productivity and efficiency of the department by staying within estimated times
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment that complies to OSHA and company standards, as well as within all DOT safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Must have Paccar/MX Engine experience
  • A Secretary of State issued Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate/License and/or Trainee Permit in HDT
  • Valid State of Michigan driver's license with a good record
  • Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Effective written, collaborative, and communication skills
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and relevant electronics
  • Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
  • Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift & carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a shop environment to include 8 - 12 hour days with frequent exposure to weather elements
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, background, and MVR check

Pay Range:

  • Starting at $24/hour - $38.00/hour

Job Type: Full-time


Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., rotating Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
