What is an overnight program manager?

An Overnight Program Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the operations, staff, and safety of overnight programs, such as shelters, residential facilities, or camps, during nighttime hours. They ensure that all policies and procedures are followed, address any emergencies or incidents that occur overnight, and support both staff and participants. Typically, they also handle administrative tasks like reporting, scheduling, and communicating with daytime management to ensure seamless program operation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an overnight program manager?

To thrive as an Overnight Program Manager, you need solid leadership, crisis management, and organizational skills, often supported by a degree in social services or management and relevant work experience.
