Job description

Content Producer, Markets Editor -- Executive Office, Global Marketing

Location: New York, NY
Division: Executive Office
Team: Content Marketing
Role Level: Vice President

About Goldman Sachs

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global financial institution that delivers a broad range of financial services to a large and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments, and individuals. Founded in 1869, the firm is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in all major financial centers around the world.

Team Overview

The Executive Office (EO) plays a critical role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs' corporate strategy and preserving the firm's distinctive culture. Within the EO, the Content Marketing team is responsible for safeguarding the firm's reputation and communicating its intellectual capital to a global audience. We partner with the firm's senior leadership and revenue-producing divisions to create high-impact content-ranging from flagship podcasts and video series to deep-dive market insights-that inform our clients, shareholders, and the broader public.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced, markets-savvy content producer with experience in audio (and preferably video) execution. This individual will be a "journalist-in-residence," responsible for translating complex markets and investing themes into compelling narratives across multiple formats, including the production of our weekly The Markets podcast. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global capital markets; technical proficiency in podcast/video production; and strong writing, concepting, and story mining skills to author articles and regularly contribute market updates to our weekly newsletter, Briefings. A strong background in financial journalism is a plus. A key component of this role will be the strategic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to drive content efficiencies and innovate our production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Editorial Leadership: Help drive the editorial strategy for the Executive Office Content Marketing team, identifying high-priority macro and market trends to "unpack" for a sophisticated global audience.
  • High-Stakes Writing: Author and edit thought leadership articles based on material from across the firm, write podcast and video scripts, and contribute to our firmwide newsletter. All content must maintain the firm's voice and meet the highest standards of accuracy and impact.
  • Multimedia Production: Lead the end-to-end production of flagship podcasts (e.g., Markets and Exchanges at Goldman Sachs) and high-quality video content, from conceptualization, script writing, to post-production oversight.
  • AI Innovation: Proactively leverage the firm's internal AI platforms and external generative AI tools to optimize content research, drafting, and multi-format distribution.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with senior leaders, economists, and strategists across the firm to extract insights and transform them into client-ready content.
  • Presentation & Communication: Present content strategies and performance metrics to senior stakeholders, demonstrating how content initiatives align with broader corporate objectives.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a mentor and team player within the Global Marketing function, ensure consistency in brand voice and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in financial journalism at a major global news organization or a financial institution's content marketing team.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep, nuanced understanding of global markets, investment banking, and macroeconomic trends.
  • Multimedia Expertise: Proven track record of hosting or producing successful podcasts and professional-grade video content.
  • Writing Excellence: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts without losing their technical integrity.
  • AI Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs for research/summarization, AI-driven video/audio editing) to enhance productivity and creative output.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree; advanced degrees are a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interview high-profile subject matter experts.
  • Agility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence senior-level decision-makers.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on collective team success.
