Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an OR position at a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Hospital operating room setting with 28 OR rooms handling 60–80 cases per day
  • Service lines include ortho (total joints), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics including neonates
  • Night shift: 7p–7:30a, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend requirement: 2–3 shifts per 6-week schedule period, typically one day (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Night shift runs 2 OR rooms; weekends typically run 5–6 rooms on Saturday and Sunday, with 4 rooms for urgent cases on Sunday
  • EMR: Epic (OpTime module)
  • No on-call requirement for night shift
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
  • Active VA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
  • Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 trauma setting required
  • Must be able to handle neuro, trauma, peds, transplant, and procurement cases (typical overnight trauma OR cases)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required — this cannot be a first travel assignment (at least 1–2 prior assignments preferred)
  • Scrub and circulate experience preferred
  • Neonate and pediatric OR experience preferred
  • Epic OpTime experience preferred
  • 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Candidate will circulate and scrub across a high-volume, multi-specialty OR environment
  • Holiday coverage required for at least one holiday during the assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
