Foreman


Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking, Inc, a division of Asbell Companies, is currently looking to hire a Foreman with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a foreman on excavation projects. Successful candidates must be able to efficiently schedule and manage manpower, operate heavy equipment, work extended hours and be willing to travel.

Duties:

  • Manage employees to meet duties/requirements as assigned by the Superintendent
  • Must be able to read plans
  • Execute a job effectively and efficiently
  • Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to trackhoe, backhoe, motor graders, bulldozer, front-end loader, skid steer, articulated truck and roller.
  • Ability to work well with Owners and General Contractors.
  • Follows all safety procedures
  • Records field notes as requested
  • Safeguards employer equipment, inspecting, cleaning and greasing as needed
  • GPS Experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Water, Sewer, Storm and Earthwork


Requirements:

  • 10-hour OSHA
  • Proficient in finish grading operations for dirt and base
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others; able to clearly direct operations based on direction from Superintendent involving multiple pieces of equipment; can learn and retain new skills
  • Availability for Emergency Response
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Maintain equipment to be clean and in a safe operating condition, perform Pre and Post shift inspections, add lubricants or fluids as needed and communicate any needed maintenance or repair issues to the Shop
  • Travel is infrequent but may require some overnight travel, weekends and overtime.
