Computer Support Specialist - Full-time salaried - $64,350/yr starting
This position involves providing support for all technology, electronics, and security matters within 802. A company-provided van, tools, necessary personal electronic devices, and a company-paid mobile phone will be supplied.
This is a salaried position, as the candidate is expected to be on call and available to respond physically, if necessary, seven days a week. The regular work week is typically Monday through Friday, but occasional Saturdays or Sundays may be required, depending on need. The ideal candidate is someone who is very handy, not afraid of heights, and has some experience with:
  • Electrical 120v and low voltage wiring, including conduit work
  • Windows PCs/tablets and printer installation, troubleshooting, maintenance

  • Security camera systems, DVR/NVRs, coax and IP, including wiring and camera installation, troubleshooting, and TV wall mounting.
  • Door hardware and lock installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

I don't expect a candidate to be an expert in all these areas, but more experience is certainly an advantage. Some training will be provided through hands-on work with others in this role and in neighboring areas. Physical and technical support will be available for certain projects and may sometimes include assistance from FMT, MCP, other CSSs, and occasionally, an electrician. However, I expect the hired candidate to be willing and ultimately able to perform all of the duties mentioned and more. While experience and knowledge of U-Haul business and systems is beneficial, it is not required.
