Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Providers (PA/APRN) – Multiple Roles & Locations

BayCare Medical Group | Tampa Bay, Florida

BayCare Medical Group is expanding our Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider team and is seeking Physician Assistants (PA) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) to join our growing, highly collaborative neurosurgical programs across Morton Plant Hospital (Clearwater) and St. Joseph’s Hospital (Tampa).

We offer multiple roles across inpatient, outpatient, and night coverage, providing flexibility to match your experience and career goals while working alongside experienced, board-certified neurosurgeons in a supportive, team-based environment.

Available Opportunities:

 

Morton Plant Hospital – Clearwater, FL (Adult Neurosurgery)

  1. Inpatient Role
  • Hospital-based rounding, consults, and OR support
  • Small, collaborative APP team
  • No overnight call; light weekend daytime call rotation (~1:7)
  • Adult-only neurosurgical population

      2. Night Float Role

  • 3-night block scheduling (weekday or weekend rotations), structured as two weeks on, then one week off.
  • 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM shifts (~34 hours/week)
  • Inpatient care with first-assist opportunities
  • Continuous in-house neurosurgery coverage

St. Joseph’s Hospital – Tampa, FL (Adult & Pediatric, Level II Trauma Center)

 

  1. Inpatient Emergency-Focused Role
  • High-acuity, hospital-based neurosurgical care
  • Hospital-based rounding, consults, and OR support
  • No overnight call; light weekend daytime call rotation (~1:7)
  • Collaboration with ICU and surgical teams
  1. Outpatient Clinic Role
  • Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • No overnight call; light weekend daytime call rotation (~1:7)
  • Focus on new patient evaluations and follow-ups
  • Strong work-life balance
  1. Night Float Role
  • 3-night block scheduling (weekday or weekend rotations), structured as two weeks on, then one week off.
  • 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM shifts (~34 hours/week)
  • Primary focus on overnight inpatient coverage
  • Manage consults, admissions, and care coordination
  • Collaborative night coverage model with neurosurgeons

  •  Board Certified PA (NCCPA) or APRN
  • Active Florida license (or ability to obtain)
  • Neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with neurosurgical clinical rotations considered
  • For inpatient/night roles: Acute care, surgical, or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of brain and spine pathologies
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment
