Overview
As a Microsoft Senior Data Center IT Support Technician (Sr DCIT) (Location: Fayetteville, GA), you will provide IT support for secure access workstations (SAWs) laptops, servers as well as conference rooms Audio/Visual(A/V). You will also maintain inventory of spare devices for the sites and make sure the latest updates and operating systems(OS) are installed on the devices.

In this environment, you may be asked to go on business travel to support other metros periodically, 0-25% of the time and have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities

• Building strong working relationships with people working within the data center and at corporate.
• Ensuring SAW devices are in a "healthy" state, meeting Security's compliance standard.
• Receiving confidential information to perform BIOS setting changes.
• Managing SAW inventory, including ordering, receiving, assigning/re-assigning, and decommissioning devices.
• Providing guidance to users for common SAW repair issues and escalating issues experienced by users.
• Performing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for SAWs damaged within the first 30 days of receipt.
• Providing Senior Data center Technician-level support when needed. Responsibilities include performing power cycles, swap out failed components, handling storage media, and perform troubleshooting when needed. Also, performing cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center processes.
• Supporting the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, NetDevices, SANs, Windows Server OS Support, Parts/Component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting when needed.
• Assisting Data center Inventory and Asset Management Team with shipping/receiving and inventory management to address high work volumes as required.

Datacenter Work Environment

• Traveling up to 25% typically domestically to and from multiple locations during the workday, and occasionally domestically to other sites for overnight stays. May work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Occasional climbing of ladders. Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps. Prolonged standing. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs / 11kg without assistance. Occasional lifting 25-50lbs / 11-22.5kg with lift assistance. Occasional push or pull 50-75 lbs / 22.5-34kg with assistive device. Normal visual acuity (near, far and peripheral with correction), defined via standard medical terms and applicable criteria. Normal color vision for electrical work, defined via standard medical terms and applicable criteria.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

While not required, we also look for the followingPreferred Qualifications:

• Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
• Applicable certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications
• Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts, etc.)
• Perform and execute organization's safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge.
• Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays.
• Valid license to drive standard street-legal automatic transmission vehicles within your DC's local jurisdiction.

Data Center Technicians ATR-D - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $34.13 - $56.54 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $45.24 - $63.61 per hour.
