Job description

Nocturnist Hospitalist Opportunity

Frederick, MD

We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist to join our team in a dedicated Nocturnist role. This position is designed for physicians who prefer an overnight schedule and are comfortable providing high-quality inpatient care during nighttime hours.

About the Hospitalist Team

Join a collaborative and supportive hospital medicine team consisting of 22 physicians and 10 advanced practice providers. Our clinicians work closely with nursing, specialists, and other hospital departments to provide coordinated, patient-focused care. The hospital offers full subspecialty support.

Clinical performance nurses provide additional support to help promote quality outcomes and an excellent patient experience. 

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Previous Hospitalist experience required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Schedule

This is a 7-on/7-off nocturnist schedule, with shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities may be available.

Position Responsibilities

Nocturnists are primarily responsible for overnight admissions, with admission responsibilities shared with an advanced practice provider.

The Hospitalist team participates in the hospital's rapid response team, while the Intensivist team manages codes. There are no procedural requirements for this position. All providers maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.

The hospital utilizes Meditech Expanse, a web-based electronic medical record system, along with an internal clinical informatics platform.
