With a strong reputation for safety, efficiency, and quality, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee field operations for gas compressor station construction projects.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of mechanical (piping) construction activities for oil and gas compressor stations. This includes overseeing crews, scheduling, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Together with other onsite Superintendents, supervise and manage the construction of mechanical systems in oil and gas compressor stations, including piping, skids, compressors, and related equipment.
  • Lead daily field operations and assign tasks to foremen, mechanical crews, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules in coordination with project managers and engineers.
  • Oversee the installation of high- and low-pressure piping systems, valves, gas processing units, and mechanical skids.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, quality control procedures, and testing (e.g., hydrostatic, pneumatic).
  • Interface with clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders to provide updates and resolve field issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, labor reports, equipment tracking, and progress updates.
  • Mentor team members and enforce best practices in mechanical installation and safety procedures.
  • Hire, train, and manage the performance of the mechanical team.

Qualifications

  • Construction Management or related field degree.
  • 8+ years of mechanical or industrial construction experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role.
  • Proven experience supervising the construction of oil and gas compressor stations or similar facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, compressors, pumps, valves, structural supports, and associated codes.

  • Familiarity with OSHA, API, and DOT standards applicable to oil and gas facility construction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to direct multiple crews and interface with diverse project teams.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Work Environment
