INDUSTRIAL MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Location: Roanoke, IN
Industry: Industrial Automotive Manufacturing
Pay: $36.50 per hour, increasing to $41.00 per hour once in the union
Shift: Tuesday Saturday, 10:30 PM 7:00 AM

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanical Technician to support maintenance operations at a large industrial automotive manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Indiana.

The Industrial Mechanical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills and experience working in a manufacturing, automotive, or heavy industrial environment.

COMPENSATION

Starting wage: $36.50 per hour
Wage increases to $41.00 per hour once the employee enters the union
Union position with additional benefits and opportunities

Tuesday Saturday
10:30 PM 7:00 AM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repair or corrective action.
Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and other mechanical components.
Perform equipment rebuilds, component replacements, adjustments, and alignments.
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems associated with automated manufacturing equipment.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
Use precision measuring tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment as needed.
Assist with equipment installation, relocation, modification, and startup.
Work with electricians, controls technicians, and other skilled trades to troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs using a CMMS/work order system.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls.
Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions.
Follow all OSHA, company, and facility safety procedures.
Perform lockout/tagout procedures when required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate equipment conditions, repair status, and outstanding issues to supervisors and other shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous industrial mechanical maintenance experience required.
Experience in automotive manufacturing, heavy industrial, or high-volume manufacturing preferred.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, and mechanical drives.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Experience with equipment alignment and precision mechanical maintenance preferred.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled maintenance team.
Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and automated equipment.
Ability to work the required TuesdaySaturday overnight schedule.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or mechanical training preferred.
