UCT is looking for a talented Material Handler II to join us in Hayward!

The Material Handler II ensures accurate and safe distribution of materials within and outside the facility while supporting efficient production operations. This role requires proficiency in core Material Handler I tasks, application of 5S principles, and the ability to work across multiple disciplines. Success depends on strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to maintain workflow continuity and inventory accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform material handling tasks safely and accurately, adapting to workload priorities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least 80% of Material Handler I responsibilities.
  • Support cross-training initiatives and transition seamlessly between departments.
  • Create and maintain inventory locations in ERP systems and update data accurately.
  • Process and print barcode labels and maintain KPI data for operational tracking.
  • Complete complex ERP forms such as Non-Conformance Material (NCM) entries.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies using available tools and critical thinking.
  • Reorganize inventory storage for optimal space utilization and distribution efficiency.
  • Prepare bills of lading and use carrier-related software for shipping documentation.
  • Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and scales safely and effectively.
  • Participate in repetitive motion tasks, including twisting and bending, as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Ability to perform all Material Handler I responsibilities with demonstrated proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and file management.
  • Skill in creating and maintaining ERP system records and processing complex forms.
  • Ability to research and resolve inventory issues using analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with carrier software and shipping documentation processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to 5S principles for workplace efficiency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.

Education, Certifications, Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.).
  • Forklift Certification as Required.
  • Driver's License as Required.
  • 1-2 years of experience related to the use of computer and ERP systems bar-coded software is highly desired.
  • 1-2 years of experience in any type of material distribution environment is desired.
