Overnight Managers are supervisors responsible for overseeing operations during the nighttime hours in settings such as hotels, retail stores, warehouses, or hospitals. Their duties typically include managing staff, ensuring safety and security, handling customer or client needs, and maintaining operational standards throughout the night shift. They play a crucial role in maintaining smooth operations when senior management is off duty and are often the primary point of contact for any issues that arise overnight.

Job description

Join a Company That Values Responsibility

City Wide Facility Solutions is seeking a Second Shift Manager to join our operations team and help oversee evening operations across a portfolio of commercial facilities.
This is a field operations role for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, building relationships, and ensuring clients receive exceptional service. As a member of our second shift management team, you'll work closely with Facility Solutions Managers, fellow Second Shift Managers, Independent Contractors, and clients to ensure our high standards are consistently met.
No two evenings are exactly alike. One night you may be helping launch a new client, the next coaching an Independent Contractor, conducting quality inspections, or resolving a service issue before it becomes a larger problem. If you enjoy making decisions, taking ownership, and having a direct impact on customer satisfaction, we'd love to meet you.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the flexibility and independence that comes with working second shift while making a meaningful impact on our clients and operations every evening.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Independent Contractors by communicating expectations, providing coaching, and resolving issues.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure services are performed according to client specifications and City Wide standards.
  • Partner daily with Facility Solutions Managers and fellow Second Shift Managers to communicate client concerns, contractor performance, and operational priorities.
  • Execute City Wide's New Start Policy, Customer Complaint Policy, STAR Policy, and other operational procedures.
  • Manage client requests, service concerns, new client starts, and priority accounts requiring additional attention.
  • Make recommendations regarding contractor assignments, performance improvement, and contractor replacement when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with client policies, cleaning specifications, safety requirements, and approved equipment and chemicals.
  • Utilize City Wide's CRM to complete inspections, upload photos, document service issues, and maintain accurate records.
  • Represent City Wide professionally while building long-term relationships with clients and Independent Contractors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational excellence.

Requirements

What we're looking for, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys working second shift and has been successful in an evening or overnight work environment.
Second shift is more than a schedule-it's a lifestyle. We're looking for someone who already understands and enjoys working evenings rather than someone trying second shift for the first time.

  • Previous second-shift or overnight management experience required.
  • Three or more years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience coaching, motivating, and managing teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to make sound decisions independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • A positive, solution-oriented attitude with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Commercial janitorial or facility services experience is a plus, but not required.
Schedule
  • Monday through Friday
  • Second Shift
  • Typical start time: 6:30 PM
  • Typical end time: 3:00 AM
  • Daily routes assigned throughout the Inland Empire.

Benefits

       Competitive hourly compensation

       Performance-based bonus opportunity

401(k) with potential company match and profit sharing

Company contribution toward Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance ($330/month)

       Company-paid Life Insurance

12 Days Paid Time Off (PTO) and 5 Days sick all earned time

       Monthly mileage reimbursement program

       Monthly cell phone reimbursement

Why City Wide?

At City Wide Facility Solutions, we're more than a commercial cleaning company-we're a facility management company that helps businesses simplify the management of their facilities through a network of trusted service providers.
As a Second Shift Manager, you'll play an important role in protecting client relationships, supporting our Independent Contractors, and ensuring every client receives the exceptional service they expect. If you're looking for a position that offers independence, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.
