Job description

Merchandiser

Qualifications

-Strong background in perishable operations with 2 years-experience managing one or more of the following departments:

oProduce, Meat, Seafood, Deli/Dairy, Inventory Control.

-Ability to travel from store to store. Depending on the region, an overnight stay may be required.

-Strong desire to grow and train associates throughout the fresh departments in your branches.

-Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and be flexible with daily tasks.

-Strong working relationships with Branch Managers, ABM’s along with Regional and Director of Operations.

-Work week is Monday through Friday, work hours are usually 6:30 to 3:30 but will vary depending on the branch and travel time.

-Ability to lift 60-80lbs.

-Hi Lo certification or the ability to learn how to drive a Hi Lo and become certified from Restaurant Depot’s Hi Lo certified trainers.

-Ability to send and receive emails, run reports, read them, and communicate findings.

-Ability to learn the programs we use to run the business (JSS and Report Server). Training will be provided while in the role.

-Understanding and having the confidence to enforce the company’s freshness guidelines by performing store audits.

-Ability to develop and communicate corrective action for the stores based on findings.

Job Description

-Live by and teach the “Always Fresh” guidelines set for the stores.

-Train Department employees as well as senior management in store as needed to ensure standards comply with Restaurant Depot expectations. Key points in your day to day include but are not limited to:

oFreshness guidelines.

oUsing reports to guide your daily tasks.

oInitiating resets for more productive workflow and increased sales.

oTraining and teaching WOW factor to all employees.

oUnderstanding freshness guidelines 100% and passing that information to each associate in the building.

oBe able to effect change in the stores by working closely with the department managers and senior managers.

-Preform audits while on store visits and log into merchandising website for audit score tracking.

-Assist in the hiring and recruiting of new associates when needed.

-Ability to create and implement short-term and long-term plans/goals for all branches you are responsible for and communicate them with the Senior Management team, Regional Manager and Director of Operations so everyone is on same page.

-Understand reorder levels to properly place items in store to have most visibility to our customers and help increase sales and productivity within branch.

-Work with branches on damages, interims and price adjustments to minimize losses.

-Consistent learning and growth in all fresh departments to become a perishable specialist so you can teach and train the senior managers and store associates.

-Constant communication and building relationships with buyers and category manager.

-Build relationships with larger customers at branch. Communicate on their behalf with the buying teams and operations to grow sales with all customers.
