Job description

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Nocturnist to join our growing team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. This position is primarily based at the Willowbrook campus and focuses on overnight, in-house coverage supporting Labor & Delivery and Obstetrics services.

Qualifications
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage high-acuity obstetric patients independently
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Prior experience as a nocturnist or hospital-based OB/GYN preferred
  • Interest in resident education and supervision preferred (but not required)

Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight, in-house OB/GYN coverage for Labor & Delivery, obstetric triage, and emergency gynecologic care
  • Manage laboring patients, obstetric emergencies, and unassigned patients during night shifts
  • Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as clinically indicated
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and daytime OB/GYN teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Supervise and support OB/GYN residents during overnight shifts, as applicable
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives related to obstetric care
  • Night shifts are structured and scheduled to support work-life balance; weekend and holiday coverage included per nocturnist schedule
