Job description

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks experienced Environmental Field Technicians to support fieldwork activities for our Exton, Pennsylvania office. 


Position Expectations:

  • Performs remedial system operation & maintenance and groundwater sampling activities. 
  • Completes and tracks maintenance work orders and equipment/spare parts inventory.
  • Handles labor and construction duties based on the project requirements.
  • Helps to identify field related issues and makes recommendations for correction.
  • Supervises contractors on subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment & piping installations.
  • Interacts with clients to discuss project site related information.
  • Performs soil and groundwater sampling activities according to project requirements and SOPs.
  • Ensures installation and repair practices adhere to OSHA requirements and industry standards.
  • Follows GES engineering, construction, and O&M policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to GES Health & Safety standards in all field-related activities.


Skills & Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-10+ years of field experience within the environmental consulting industry. 
  • Must possess a strong understanding of standard operating procedures related to sampling, health & safety, decontamination, field note recording, equipment calibration, and O&M activities.
  • Outdoor work; in all weather conditions. 
  • Must have a strong work ethic with very good technical, mechanical, and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a team player with outstanding organization and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support project needs, and be agreeable to outdoor work. 
  • Flexibility to occassionaly work overnight shifts, weekend shifts, or short-term travel is required. 
  • Experience with LPS or a behavior based health & safety program is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
