Job Description SummaryThe Aircraft Engine Test Technician will be responsible for performing shipping & receiving, prepping, de-prepping, inspection, and testing of aircraft engines in accordance with Standard Work and all applicable technical references.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform all aspects of the engine testing, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with Standard Work, appropriate technical references, Repair Station Manuals, and GE policies and procedures.

Partner with cross-functional teams including EHS, quality, engineering, planning, and materials to support operational initiatives, achieve strategic business objectives, and support constant improvement site-wide.

Understand and strictly adhere to appropriate technical references such as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Engine Shop Manuals, Engine Illustrated Parts Catalogs, etc. Act in accordance with GE's FLIGHT DECK fundamentals & behaviors, the site's Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, Training Manual, Test Cell Facility Operations Manual, and other applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Document all work performed and book time using the site's ERP software. Perform supplementary shop and housekeeping duties as a part of the site's 5S and Total Proactive Maintenance initiatives.

Ability to use mechanical ingenuity and make decisions in a fast-paced production environment in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to travel to remote international locations for initial training for an extended period of time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma / GED with 4-5 years of aircraft engine testing experience. Experience with LEAP & GE GenX engines and engine runs desired.

  • FAA Powerplant License required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelors degree desired (in Engineering preferred)

  • Knowledge of borescope inspection.

  • Technical competency.

  • Preliminary review approved.

  • Designated Inspector.

  • Holds CRS privileges.

  • Experience as a Test Throttle operator

  • Experience as a Engine Test Site Operator.

  • Mechanical experience

  • Leadership experience trouble shooting while testing aircraft engines.

  • Previous commercial high-bypass turbofan engine testing experience including prepping, de-prepping, engine test (test cell or on-wing), line maintenance, engine changes, LRU removal and installation, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Background in or familiarity with SAP, Oasis, or a similar ERP software.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

  • Demonstrated quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction skills.

  • Possess a desire to learn constantly in every aspect of OWS test operations and expand their knowledge to different technologies and Engine Programs.

  • Ability to work as part of a team or of their own initiative when required.

  • Features strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills, including problem-solving ability.

  • Equipment operations, i.e., fork truck, overhead crane, transporter & tug.
