Material Handler / Receiving Associate (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: Canton, MA
Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire (TTH)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler / Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay and the potential for long-term employment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, unloading trucks, inspecting products for quality and accuracy, replenishing inventory, and maintaining accurate records using warehouse software. This role requires strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities
  • Unload incoming shipments from delivery trucks safely and efficiently.

  • Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, and discrepancies.

  • Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.

  • Accurately receive inventory into the warehouse management system.

  • Operate material handling equipment to transport and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.

  • Replenish warehouse pick locations from overstock inventory.

  • Receive and process deliveries from carriers including UPS and FedEx.

  • Process approximately two inbound shipments per week while maintaining organization and accuracy.

  • Utilize warehouse software for inventory tracking and receiving transactions, with an upcoming transition to Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.

  • Follow all warehouse safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist with additional warehouse and inventory duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in receiving, material handling, warehouse operations, or shipping & receiving preferred.

  • Experience unloading trucks and verifying incoming shipments.

  • Comfortable using computers and warehouse inventory software (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus but not required).

  • Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift experience is a plus).

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.

  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Schedule
  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Full-time hours

Compensation & Benefits
  • $23.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
