Job Summary:
Camp Staff support the daily care, supervision, and activity programming of campers by overseeing assigned cabins, assisting volunteers, and ensuring campers’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. This role provides direct support, helps implement daily activities, completes required documentation, and serves as a key liaison between campers, families, volunteers, and camp leadership while supporting the mission and values of the Camp Ministry.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission, purpose, and Christian values of Echoing Hills and the Camp Ministry in all interactions and activities.
  • Assist the Recreational Services & Outreach Administrator, Director, and camp leadership with daily operations and programming.
  • Oversee the care, supervision, and daily needs of assigned cabins, campers, and volunteers.
  • Direct and assist volunteers in providing personal care to campers, including toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and positioning as needed.
  • Implement and support behavior support plans and address behavioral needs in collaboration with leadership.
  • Assist with and support daily camper activities by following schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation related to camper care, activities, behaviors, and incidents.
  • Support safety, compliance, and emergency response efforts by following infection control, universal precautions, patient rights, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with cabin, grounds upkeep, ministry events, fundraisers, and other duties as assigned, including emergency coverage.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience in IDD, healthcare, nonprofit, or camp settings preferred.
  • Prior volunteer or missionary supervision experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated Christian background and ability to fulfill the mission and purpose of the Ministry.

Work Conditions:

  • Work performed in indoor and outdoor camp environments, including cabins, activity areas, and community settings.
  • Schedule includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; extended hours may be required during camp sessions.
  • Frequent physical activity required, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering up to 45 pounds independently.
  • On-call availability required for emergencies; occasional offsite travel and overnight stays may be required.
