Position Summary
The Construction Technician plays an essential role in the successful execution of SERVPRO construction and reconstruction projects. Working under the direction of the Superintendent and/or Project Manager, this position is responsible for performing hands-on construction tasks that support project completion, quality, and customer satisfaction. Depending on skill level and experience, responsibilities may include basic framing and finish carpentry, drywall installation, repair/patch or finish, painting, flooring installation, job site organization, debris removal, and material handling. The Construction Technician ensures that all work performed meets SERPRO’s standards of quality, professionalism, and safety, particularly given the company’s focus on insurance restoration and remodeling projects. Professional appearance, craftsmanship, and customer service are critical to maintaining Servpro’s reputation and fostering repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
· Always make safety the top priority for self, coworkers, and subcontractors.
· Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety procedures.
· Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
Construction & Site Work
· Perform hands-on construction tasks, including but not limited to:
o Basic framing, drywall installation, mudding, and finishing
o Trim and finish carpentry
o Painting and surface preparation
o Basic flooring installation (tile, laminate, vinyl, carpet, etc.)
o Cabinet, door, and fixture installation
o Site cleanup and debris removal
· Use hand tools and power tools safely and proficiently.
· Read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work scopes.
· Accurately measure, cut, and assemble materials as directed.
· Support the Superintendent or Project Manager in maintaining project schedules.
Logistics & Documentation
· Pick up and deliver materials and supplies as needed.
· Verify material deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
· Maintain organized and clean job sites at all times.
· Submit daily project logs and jobsite photos via DASH.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding progress, issues, or delays.
Customer & Subcontractor Relations
· Interact professionally and courteously with customers, subcontractors, and team members.
· Provide updates to customers when requested by management.
· Assist with pre-construction meetings, final walk-throughs, and punch list completion.
· Help obtain signed Certificates of Completion and Satisfaction when required.
· Support project leadership in monitoring subcontractor performance and verifying work quality.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
· Strive for excellence and attention to detail in all workmanship.
· Maintain SERPRO’s commitment to high standards of restoration and remodeling quality.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience Requirements
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Proven customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
· Basic math and measurement skills required.
· Prior experience in construction, remodeling, or restoration preferred.
· Working knowledge of common construction tools, materials, and methods.
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
· Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
· Frequent use of ladders, scaffolding, and hand/power tools.
· Exposure to variable weather conditions and loud environments.
· Daily operation of company vehicle between job sites and suppliers.
· Must be able to perform tasks safely in active construction environments.
Work Schedule and Travel Requirements
· Full-time, Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week).
· Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
· Local travel is required; occasional out-of-town or overnight travel may occur.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
· Primarily office-based position with occasional travel to job sites for scope validation or inspections.
· Frequent computer use for estimating, documentation, and communication.

· Regular interaction with photos, drawings, and digital scope data.
Work Schedule and Travel Requirements
· Full-time, salaried position typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
· Extended hours or weekends may be required to meet estimating or program deadlines.
· Constant travel within franchise radius for site inspections/visits, possible training, or coordination meetings.
