SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Exterior Aircraft Wax Agent specializes in the application of wax and protective coatings to the exteriors of aircraft. This role involves meticulously preparing the aircraft surface, applying wax products evenly and efficiently, and buffing to achieve a high-quality finish. You must adhere to specific safety and operational guidelines, ensuring that the waxing process does not interfere with aircraft operations and complies with aviation standards. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining their equipment, managing wax supplies, and staying informed about the latest products and techniques in aircraft exterior maintenance to ensure the best possible protection and appearance of the aircraft.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply wax and other protective coatings to the exterior surfaces of aircraft
- Use specialized equipment for waxing and polishing aircraft exteriors
- Ensure a smooth and even application of wax on aircraft fuselages, wings, and tails
- Follow specific procedures for the preparation and finishing of exterior surfaces
- Inspect aircraft surfaces for cleanliness and readiness before wax application
- Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights and around aircraft
- Coordinate with the cleaning team to schedule waxing after exterior cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment
- Use environmentally safe waxing products in compliance with regulations
- Monitor the condition of waxing equipment and report any malfunctions
- Stay updated on the best practices and innovations in aircraft waxing and exterior care
- Keep accurate records of waxing services performed on each aircraft
- Assist in the training of new team members on waxing techniques and safety
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other airport staff
- Ensure the finished appearance of the aircraft meets airline and company standards
- Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
