Job description

What to expect:
The Assistant Manager, Winter Operations - UGE will assist the department Manager in coordinating the development of policies and procedures utilized by the UGE Airport Operations team to execute the deicing programs of various airline partners. Will assist in overseeing station readiness process for UGE. Provides input to strategic planning for deicing equipment, fluid purchase, and outsourced/insourced solutions. Establishes and maintains critical relationships with station leadership, other planning organizations and the FAA. Provides the necessary tools and resources to effectively perform critical Winter Operations related work functions and processes. Ensures FAA compliance with all regulations and conducts appropriate follow up to ensure standard work is performed.
How you will make an impact:
  • Communicates with the counterparts of airline partners whose aircraft we deice to standardize processes in Company manuals, training programs and commonly shared manuals.
  • Maintains consistency of Deicing programs and training content. Coordinates and directs deicing training.
  • Interfaces with subject matter experts to update current procedures for Deicing Compliance/Quality Assurance.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the material contained in the department's manuals and training materials. Maintains knowledge and training qualifications for the deicing / anti-icing of aircraft.
  • Communicates and interfaces with the Federal Aviation Administration during station readiness and station compliance audits.
  • Performs deice audits; facilitates corrections as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Requires at least 3 years of deicing experience.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proven decision making, leadership, business acumen and interpersonal relationships skills required.
  • Able to identify, research, and implement root cause resolution independently.
  • Able to travel up to 50%-75% of the time, including overnight travel.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Aeronautical or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in classroom facilitation.
  • Prior experience working in or with winter airport operations.
  • Icelink proficiency a plus.
