Job description

Tired of being another cog in the machine?

At VCS, we don’t just build systems— we engineer solutions that make production lines smarter, faster, and more reliable. We’re looking for a Controls Engineer who’s hands‑on, detail‑obsessed, and ready to own projects from napkin sketch to factory floor.

What You’ll Do:
  • Designing and developing PLC‑based control systems (mostly Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley).
  • Programming HMIs, VFDs, and managed networks.
  • Overseeing panel design and layout using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Collaborating with clients, PMs, and our build team to get it right the first time.
  • Installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting controls on customer sites (10% overnight travel).
  • Researching and implementing new automation tech when projects demand it.
  • Maintaining and expanding Rockwell SI certification capabilities (we’ll help you earn more).
  • Occasional pitching in to support business development or special R&D projects.
What You Bring
  • 2–4 years of real‑world controls experience (design through startup).
  • Deep knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms and software.
  • Solid AutoCAD Electrical skills.
  • Familiarity with UL508A, NEC, ISO 13849, and industrial safety best practices.
  • Clear communication, strong documentation habits, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering—or equivalent experience that proves you’ve got the chops.
  • Willingness to travel ~10%.
  • Located within a 2 hour drive of Clarksville, AR in order to support our local clients.
What You’ll Get

Pay: $70,000–$90,000 DOE

  • 401(k) + matching
  • PTO & paid holidays
  • Parental leave
  • Retirement plan
  • Training and certifications (we’ll help you get your TUV FS Technician Certificate)
  • Remote‑Friendly work environment (with occasional on‑site work with clients)

Location: Hybrid remote in Clarksville, AR 72830

Why VCS?

We're a small team doing big things. If you're tired of being micromanaged, buried in bureaucracy, or stuck in a role with no real ownership, this is your way out. You’ll get your hands dirty, make decisions that matter, and be part of a company that respects the people behind the panels.

Ready to Build Something Better? Apply now or reach out with questions—we’re always up for a conversation with great engineers.
