Job Title: Panel Builder

Job Description

The Panel Builder assembles and wires custom control panels for automation systems, working hands-on in a panel shop environment. In this role, you collaborate closely with engineers and the quality team to ensure every panel meets applicable safety standards and codes such as NFPA 79 and UL508A, while also supporting startup and debug activities to deliver reliable, high-quality automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret technical documentation and resolve design or wiring questions.
  • Work closely with the quality team to ensure panels comply with relevant safety standards and codes, including NFPA 79 and UL508A.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks such as mounting components, routing wiring, and labeling terminals and cables.
  • Support startup and debug efforts for control panels, assisting in functional testing and troubleshooting.
  • Inspect completed panels to verify workmanship, proper component installation, and adherence to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established procedures and best practices for panel building.
  • Document work performed and communicate progress or issues to engineering and quality teams.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate tools and equipment when assembling and wiring panels.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in panel building, including assembling and wiring control panels.
  • Proficiency in electrical assembly tasks such as mounting components, routing and terminating wiring, and reading electrical schematics.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and quality personnel to ensure compliance with safety standards and codes like NFPA 79 and UL508A.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship and reliable control panel performance.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing practices related to custom control panel production.
  • Ability to support startup and debug activities, including functional testing and basic troubleshooting of control panels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a Panel Builder, Electrical Assembler, Mechanical Assembler, or similar hands-on manufacturing role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or panel shop environment building custom control panels.
  • Comfort working with hand tools and electrical assembly equipment in a production setting.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines in a manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
