Description

Helping communities in the Aberdeen area thrive and grow is what we do every day. We are looking for a Construction Technician to support a variety of projects and provide on-site construction monitoring.
This position is based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and involves field work on projects primarily in the Aberdeen area. Travel to project sites in the surrounding region will be required, with occasional overnight stays depending on project needs.
  • Conduct and document observations of construction progress as it progresses
  • Perform civil engineering calculations; prepare engineering plans, designs, and reports
  • Conduct or coordinate field materials sampling and testing
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Collaborate with other field representatives and/or Project Managers
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors
  • Prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery
  • Possibility for long-term assignments

Requirements
  • Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Exhibits professionalism with clients
  • Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-year or 4-year degrees in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar disciplines
  • Industry certifications
  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
