Job description

A leading A/E/C consulting firm has an immediate need for a construction monitor to support various projects throughout the Los Angeles region.
  • Perform routine field assignments with supervision
  • Construction monitoring of earthwork, and related activities as it relates to stormwater construction
  • The use of various geotechnical and environmental instrumentation and equipment.
  • Preparation of detailed notes and taking photographs to document the procedures used and observations made during field explorations programs and/or construction monitoring for use by supervisory or project personnel.
  • Preparation of daily/weekly field reports, including written reports with figures, photographs, and summary tables as required.
  • Participation in team meetings.
  • Adherence to Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site, including participation in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and company.
  • Coordinating scheduling with contractors and subcontractors.

  • Experience observing contractor activities relative to conformance with work plans and contract drawings, particularly for subsurface explorations and general vertical construction, and stormwater activities
  • Familiarity with set-up and use of basic engineering monitoring tools
  • 10-hour OSHA Construction training
  • Certified QSP or QSD preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred
  • Possible need for 40-hour HAZWOPER
  • Related and relevant field experience is required
  • 1-5 years of related field experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to travel to local job sites and on temporary out of town assignments as needed
