Job description

Location: Jacksonville, Florida | Travel: Yes (overnight required)
Join Control Southern's expert team and help keep critical industrial systems running safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain a variety of valves (control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, plug) and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric).
  • Perform calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of valves and process instrumentation.
  • Complete full repair cycle: pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, and final inspection.
  • Document all repair activities, including cause of failure and parts used.
  • Provide technical support and communicate with customers on-site and in-shop.
  • Adhere to National Board VR/UV program guidelines and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Operate repair equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, sandblasters, and power tools.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 1-3 years in valve, pump, or actuator repair (or equivalent training). Welding and machining skills are a plus.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, time management, and teamwork.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and insurability.
    • Ability to lift up to 44 lbs and work in varied conditions (heat, cold, clean rooms).
    • Comfortable with off-hours, weekends, and overtime as needed.
    • Knowledge of rigging and moving heavy equipment.
