Job description

Inside Sales Estimator
Position Summary
Carlisle Architectural Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inside Sales Estimator to support our growing commercial roofing and architectural metals business. In this role, you will prepare accurate quotes and estimates for metal roofing, wall, soffit, and edge metal systems while serving as a trusted resource for customers, sales representatives, contractors, architects, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong technical aptitude, and thrives on delivering exceptional customer service while managing multiple projects and priorities.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare accurate quotes and estimates for metal roofing, wall, soffit, edge metal, and related architectural metal products.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents to determine project requirements.
  • Gather project information from customers, contractors, distributors, architects, and internal teams to develop complete and accurate estimates.
  • Utilize third-party takeoff services to obtain material quantities and product information.
  • Maintain project documentation, quote logs, and estimate records within company systems.
  • Coordinate project handoff to Order Management Specialists once orders are ready for processing.
  • Communicate with customers regarding pricing, product information, project status, and order readiness.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure successful project execution.
  • Assist with new customer account setup and support manufacturer approval opportunities during design and pre-bid phases.
  • Research and resolve customer questions while providing timely, professional service.
  • Support month-end reporting and maintain accurate project records.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-5 years of experience in estimating, quoting, inside sales, customer service, or construction-related support.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within commercial roofing, architectural metals, or metal cladding.
  • Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, or similar business systems.
  • Experience maintaining project documentation or quote management systems.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
