Job description

Description

Assembles business loan files, uploads loans into computer system, and finalizes loan closings. Processes payments and advances, maintains and updates collateral tracking, prepares client correspondences, and assists clients with inquiries and problem resolution. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.


Essential Functions:

Originate and Process Loan Documentation 65%

  • Prepares & orders all necessary loan documentation 
  • Assembles & scans commercial loan files
  • Uploads new loans, renewals, and participations into core system


Loan & File Maintenance 30%

  • Processes and posts in-house and participation payments and advances; prepares wire requests
  • Completes loan maintenance and loan read back
  • Updates collateral tracking
  • Monitors insurance documentation and UCC filings
  • Prepares and sends "paid-off loan" correspondences and documentation
  • Closes and organizes loan files
  • Provides service in person, on the telephone, and through e-mail


Additional Duties and Responsibilities 5%

  • Other job duties as assigned necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position
  • Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required

Regular contact with clients and co-workers. Works with highly confidential business and client information. Occasionally participates in bank committees and events.

Demonstrates professionalism, commitment to the job, and loyalty to the Bank.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis in business coursework required, Associate's Degree with accounting or business emphasis preferred. A minimum of 1+ years of customer service or administrative experience within the banking industry required. Must possess courteous and professional customer service attitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential client and Bank information. Must possess computer function and typing and data entry skills; strong organization and follow-up skills; basic mathematical skills up to and including fractions; legible handwriting. Must possess ability to deal effectively with time pressures and stress that can change hourly depending on level of client activity; effective problem solving and research skills.  


Working Conditions:  

Work is performed largely in an office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage required. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel (air or auto) is required for business and education. Regular use of telephone. Frequent repetitive use of keyboard for approximately 6 hours per day. Frequent repetitive fingering of documents. Requires ability to receive and provide detailed information through verbal and written communication. Requires near and mid-range vision. Will alternate sitting, standing, and walking throughout work shift. Bend, kneel, turn, lift and carry up to 20 pounds of documents and office supplies. Climb stairs. Occasional exposure to significant work pace. Work is performed generally during regular business hours with minimal expectation of overtime.  


Equipment Used:

Operates personal computer in a Windows environment for word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet, and other bank specific software. Operates core systems on Silverlake. Utilizes a variety of office equipment including computer printer, typewriter, ten-key calculator, fax, copy machine, and multi-line telephone.
