Job description

West Side Beer Distributing is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Truck Checker to join our Romulus Warehouse team.
In this role, you'll serve as the final quality control checkpoint before our products are delivered to customers. You'll audit orders that have been picked and loaded onto route trucks, identify and correct inventory discrepancies, and help ensure every truck leaves with the right products. You'll also move semi truck / tractor trailers throughout our facility to prepare them for loading and unloading and assist with warehouse operations that support an efficient delivery process.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in accuracy, and wants a consistent schedule with a 4-day work week.

Location: Romulus
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (or until all trucks are loaded)
Compensation: $19.00 per hour + Incentive Opportunities
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately count and verify inventory on route trucks.
  • Audit and identify loading or picking errors using handheld technology.
  • Monitor product rotation and inventory accuracy.
  • Move semi trucks/ tractor trailers throughout company property to position them for loading, unloading, and overnight parking.
  • Wrap pallets for route and bulk truck shipments.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks.
  • Report equipment maintenance or repair needs to management.
  • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping throughout the warehouse and facility.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and supplier requirements.
  • Support warehouse operations and assist team members as needed.
What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack is preferred.
  • Ability to use handheld scanning and inventory equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Pushing and pulling loaded pallets and warehouse equipment.
  • Working in refrigerated coolers and outdoor conditions when necessary.
