Summary

We are recruiting for an Accounting Manager at our Cromwell plant to provide effective reporting tools to management in order to help assist our Company in achieving top quality products at the lowest cost.

This is an onsite role.  Relocation is available for qualified candidates.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manages the accounting staff at the Cromwell Harvest Plant, including coverage of tasks, providing training and guidance, and conducting coaching and performance evaluations. The Manager is responsible for achieving the department’s accountabilities in compliance with all Internal Control Accounting policies, such as: completing daily and weekly production reports, weekly estimates, KPI reporting, journal entries, balance sheet recs, and management reporting. 

2. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data by reviewing and reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and management reports. The position is responsible for all closing duties as related to the facility, including reviewing and approval of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by associates that report to them.

3. Preparing and presenting financial reports and analysis to management, including budget variance analysis, forecasting, and financial projections.  The Accounting Manager is a business partner to the Director of Ops and the Plant Management Teams. Monitoring and analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

4. Preparation of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts for the location.  Work with Plant Management to determine accurate standard cost of each existing product code and new product codes.  Assist FPA with requests to properly cost new products or customer requested changes.

5. Verifies the initial CER request to the Financial Analysis checklist. Audits current capital projects by verifying charges to the project.  Completes the closing CER checklist when the project is finished.

6. Performs internal auditing and control procedures by doing physical inventory counts, badge audits, fixed asset verification, and balance sheet reviews.

7. Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices. Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and best practices.

8. Collaborating with other departments to support financial decision-making and provide financial information and analysis as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

REQUIRED:  Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business management plus 4 -6 years related work experience:

  • Must have excellent computer skills in Excel. 
  • Prefer experience in SAP, Kronos, Maximo.
  • Requires good oral and written communications skills; good planning, problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • May require travel and overnight trips.

 

 

PREFERRED:

  • Prefer experience in SAP, Kronos, Maximo.
  • Supervisory experience; experience in manufacturing; cost accounting, SAP and continuous improvement concepts.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
  1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  2. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  4. Work activity requires bending and climbing.
  5. When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
    • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
    • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
