What are Overnight Amish workers?

Overnight Amish workers are individuals from Amish communities who take on jobs that require them to work overnight shifts, often in sectors like manufacturing, agriculture, or hospitality. While the Amish are known for their traditional lifestyle and avoidance of modern technology, some do work outside their communities to support their families, especially in roles that align with their values. These jobs may involve manual labor, caretaking, or other responsibilities that do not require the use of electricity or modern conveniences. Overnight shifts can be attractive as they may interfere less with community and family obligations during the day.
