Job description

Primarily perform field testing of building enclosure assemblies (e.g. windows, air barrier, roofing) in the Atlanta area. Additional duties may include on-site observation of construction progress or general office tasks. Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site and project requirements. Testing will require the loading, unloading, and transportation of equipment, rough carpentry to fabricate test apparatus, setting up hose and pumps, working from heights including rooftops, operation of boom lift, scissor lift, and suspended scaffolding. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. Adhere to strict safety standards.

From general practitioners to specialists, our national Facilities professionals know facility systems from curb to rooftop. As a member of our team, you'll join licensed architects and engineers delivering services for new construction and existing facilities including building enclosure consulting and testing, facility asset management, due diligence, ADA and accessibility consulting, facility condition assessments, and more. Be it one parking lot or a 100-building portfolio, we create sustainable options for our clients' buildings, assess and extend service life where applicable, increase performance, and help them maximize the value of their capital expenditures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience required.
  • Roofing or waterproofing experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Degree in Building Science is preferred but not required.
  • Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
  • Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
  • Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
  • Maintains assigned equipment.
  • Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Perform Near Miss Reporting and Site Safety Check-ins. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Obtain certification to operate mobile elevated work platforms and suspended scaffolding.
  • Be comfortable working from heights.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Be capable and willing to travel for out-of-town jobs that may require staying overnight. Typical overnight stays include 1 or 2 nights, but in some cases may require overnight travel for several weeks at a time.
