Overnight Residential Counselor


Job Description:

WILO NJ is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Residential Counselor to join our team. The Overnight Residential Counselor will provide support and guidance to residents in our facility, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist 2 to 3 residents overnight, in a WILO NJ managed home, ensuring their safety, care, welfare, and security at all times.
  • Supervise and coordinate all aspects of WILO Residents and the home.
  • Complete daily shift and task sheets.
  • Help residents with menu planning, food shopping, household cleanliness, medication, and scheduling non-medical appointments.
  • Assist with meal preparation.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including filing, organizing, research, service delivery documentation, data entry, and phone accessibility.
  • Communicate positively with families and other members of the WILO NJ village, such as day programs, therapists, counselors, and other village members.
  • Ensure the availability of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other household necessities through weekly grocery shopping.
  • Perform other tasks related to resident care and safety as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain CDS modules and Direct Support Professional credentials (as mandated by DDD).
  • Attend WILO NJ employee training and staff meetings.


Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
