Overview:

Veeco is seeking a Senior Director, Engineering - Advanced Deposition Systems, to lead a multidisciplinary organization responsible for the design, development, qualification, and support of advanced wafer processing equipment. This highly visible role oversees Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering teams and drives execution across multiple concurrent development and customerdriven programs.

The Senior Director partners closely with Operations, Marketing, Technology, Product Support, and Supply Chain to translate customer and market requirements into robust, manufacturable products that meet schedule, cost, quality, and regulatory objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams (ME, EE, Systems, Software), including direct, matrixed, and outsourced resources.
  • Own engineering execution across the full product lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, development, qualification, production, and field support.
  • Deliver multiple concurrent development and customerspecific programs to committed schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations on customer requirement reviews, configuration definition, quoting, and order execution.
  • Plan and allocate engineering resources aligned with business priorities and operations build schedules.
  • Establish goals, metrics, and processes to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and predictability.
  • Build, mentor, and retain top engineering talent; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in complex capital equipment or related industries, including 7+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations spanning Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering.
  • Strong systemlevel understanding of complex electromechanical products and full product development lifecycle execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple highpriority programs while balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, and outsourced engineering partners.
  • Semiconductor equipment experience is a strong plus, particularly in vacuumbased, thinfilm, ion beam, or deposition technologies.

Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $236,000-$300,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
