Job description

We're looking for a sales professional who enjoys the best of both worlds. This position combines business development with in-store sales, allowing you to build new relationships in the community while also helping customers in our beautiful showroom. You'll spend part of your week networking and developing new business opportunities and the remainder assisting customers in-store, preparing estimates, and working alongside our experienced sales team.

The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people, developing business relationships, and helping customers make important purchasing decisions. They are equally comfortable networking in the community, visiting customers, and working in a retail showroom. They are self-motivated, organized, and enjoy building long-term relationships that result in repeat and referral business.

Compensation:

$60,000 - $85,000 hourly


Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Build relationships with builders, contractors, designers, property managers, realtors, and commercial accounts.

  • Prospect new business through networking, referrals, community involvement, cold outreach, and customer visits.

  • Schedule appointments and perform outside sales calls within your assigned territory.

  • Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers.

  • Represent Carpet City at networking events and community functions.

Showroom Sales & Customer Experience

  • Assist walk-in customers with flooring selections and design recommendations.

  • Prepare estimates and quotes.

  • Coordinate with estimators and installation teams.

  • Follow customers from initial consultation through project completion.

  • Help maintain an inviting, organized showroom.

This is a hybrid sales position. While you'll spend time outside the store building relationships and developing new business, you'll also be scheduled to work regular showroom hours, including some evenings and rotating Saturdays. The exact mix of outside prospecting and showroom coverage will vary based on business needs.
