Job description

About Culton Companies

Culton Companies is a well-established, Alabama-based company that designs, builds, and installs award-winning custom tradeshow exhibits, branded interiors, and museum environments for commercial and institutional clients.
We are comprised of three divisions; ExpoDisplays, Method-1 & Warner Museums
We are known for long-term client relationships, consistent execution, and a reputation built on trust and results. Our growth has been driven by service quality and referrals—not high-pressure sales tactics. We value professionalism, accountability, and people who take pride in representing a respected brand.

About the Role

Culton Companies is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to support and grow our client base in the Huntsville, Alabama market. This role is ideal for a proven sales professional who enjoys managing established accounts while actively developing new business in a growing territory.

This position combines account management and new business development. You will take ownership of an existing portfolio of clients in the Huntsville area while prospecting, building relationships, and expanding our footprint with new customers.

Given the strong Department of Defense and government contractor presence in the Huntsville market, experience working with military organizations or selling into government contractors is highly valuable in this role.

While the position is based in our Huntsville office, all design and production takes place in our Birmingham, AL Corporate Headquarters. Occasional travel to Birmingham will be required.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, professional, and comfortable working independently while representing a well-established company with high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow an existing book of business in the Huntsville market

  • Develop new client relationships through prospecting, referrals, and networking

  • Conduct in-person sales calls and client meetings

  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate custom solutions

  • Build long-term relationships based on trust, service, and results

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and execution

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in outside or B2B sales

  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills

  • Comfortable managing both existing accounts and new business development

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities

  • Highly organized with strong follow-through

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the territory

Preferred Experience (Not Required)
  • Prior military service or direct experience working with Department of Defense organizations

  • Experience selling to or supporting government contractors, particularly large or remotely managed organizations

  • Familiarity with navigating complex procurement environments and multiple stakeholders

  • Experience selling custom, creative, or project-based solutions

What We Offer
  • Established accounts to inherit, not just a cold territory

  • Competitive compensation structure (base + commission or commission-focused, depending on experience)

  • Opportunity for long-term growth with a stable, growing company

  • Autonomy and trust — we hire professionals and treat them like professionals

  • Support from an experienced leadership team

Who This Role Is Best For

This position is best suited for someone who:

  • Enjoys owning a territory and being accountable for results

  • Thrives in a consultative, relationship-based sales environment

  • Is comfortable selling custom, high-value solutions rather than commodities

  • Understands the challenges of selling into large, complex organizations

  • Takes pride in representing a company at a high professional level
