Job Description for: Sales Representative / Outside Sales – Branch Locations

Sid Harvey’s an HVAC wholesale distributor of heating, cooling and refrigeration equipment and products is seeking a full-time HVAC Outside Sales Person for its Hobart, Indiana Location.

Summary:

Improve the growth of Sales. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously. Generate sales through excellent customer service, add-on and
 up-selling. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner, while representing Sid Harvey’s in a professional manner. 

Reports To:

Regional or Territory Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for growing sales.
  • Responsible for maintaining customer profiles and other data on the salesperson’s account.
  • Responsible for completing all Customer Relationship Management Forms.
  • Responsible for monthly growth of gross profit dollars as compared to prior year performance for assigned accounts.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and 3 years of safe driving experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Provide constant competitive feedback to the Regional Sales Manager or Territory Manager.
  • Keep Manager informed about customer relationships, results of sales calls, new accounts and competition activities.
  • Present Professional Sales Presentations.
  • Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Sid Harvey products (i.e. Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating) to meet customer’s needs.
  • Update and maintain customer’s pricing files.
  • Continuous cold calling to build new business.
  • Continuously update product knowledge through any available resources. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Know location of merchandise in warehouse.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety rules. Inform Regional Manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Assist in year-end physical inventories as requested.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.
  • Must pass drug test, credit and background search.

Abilities and Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; carry and or reach. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material, payment processing, etc. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks. 

Education:

High School Graduate or equivalency diploma required
Non-Exempt 10/20
