Job Summary
The Outside Sales Representative plays a vital role in promoting and expanding the market presence for the company. Working closely with the Branch Manager, the Outside Sales Representative implements strategic sales initiatives a strong focus on customer value creation. This role is responsible for meeting customer expectations and needs by providing exceptional service and building lasting relationships. They are pivotal in driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities with new and existing customers, and achieving revenue targets. As a dynamic team player, the Outside Sales Representative inspires and motivates colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Their enthusiasm and dedication contribute to the overall success of the sales team, as well as the company's long-term vision.
Essential Functions
  • Embody the ARG Industrial Core Values of authenticity, taking ownership, being helpful and collaborative, having a desire to elevate and evolve, and exhibiting grit.
  • Manage a designated territory with existing and potential customers to maximize ARG Industrial's market share for hose, fittings, and associated products.
  • Identify growth prospects with new and current customers, identifying value drivers, relaying insights to Inside Sales team, and crafting impactful proposals that address and capitalize on these drivers.
  • Maximize time spent on opportunity discovery, including contacting customers and prospective customers through appointments and cold calls.
  • Promptly transfers orders and quotes for immediate processing by Inside Sales, delivering product with within scope of sales call.
  • Coordinate the hand-off to the Field Support Specialist when applicable.
  • Identify potential Web Users.
  • Champion customer interests while driving operational improvements essential for growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.
  • Provide on-site expertise, solve problems, and make product recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure seamless coordination and prompt resolution of customer inquiries, orders, and issues.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback to the management team.
  • Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to promote ARG Industrial products and enhance brand visibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory to meet with clients and attend industry events. This may involve regular driving or flying to different locations.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Physical fitness to spend extended periods of time on feet and walking.
  • Physical activities associated with visiting various customer locations.
  • Ability to operate computer systems and other standard office equipment.
  • Regularly lifting and carrying objects (up to 40 pounds).
  • Working in quiet to moderately noisy environments, normal for warehouse and industrial environments.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and provide a clean driving record from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customer and team members.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals and achieve sales targets.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage customer interactions and track sales performance.
  • Flexibility to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally.

Education
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline is preferred. (Relevant experience can substitute for degree on a year-by-year basis).
Experience
3+ years of proven sales experience in outside sales is preferred. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining customer relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales goals.
