Job description

Job Summary

Identifies, develops, and implements strategic community outreach opportunities that are aligned with the company's corporate giving focus areas and charitable guidelines. Manages community requests for participation in community-based outreach programs, health fairs and in-kind donations of health care resources. Identifies and coordinates community outreach volunteer opportunities for colleagues in conjunction with community health fairs, outreach activities and other special events. Coordinates health care resources as needed to support programs with strategic community involvement partners. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates system community outreach health related projects, programs, events, initiatives and charitable requests as assigned (health fairs, community events, volunteer program, corporate sponsorships, etc.)
  • Collaborates with the department leadership, director and manager, develops plans, coordinates implementation and communicates a strategic community outreach program that is aligned with the mission, goals and objectives of the company and its plans for community involvement, and that is fully integrated between the department, marketing, public relations, hospital entities, college and the Foundation to ensure compliance and cooperation throughout the system.
  • Receives and coordinates timely responses to community requests for the company's participation in community health fairs and events.
  • Receives and coordinates timely responses to community requests for in-kind donations and resources.
  • Serves as the liaison and coordinator for community involvement activities with non-profit, charitable and community based organizations in a manner that enhances the Baptist image/reputation..
  • Coordinates support activities for the Baptist Operation Outreach health care van for the homeless.
  • Collaborates with the department's leadership, director and manager, coordinates the company's employee volunteer program and activities.
  • Manages and maintains required health screening documents, equipment, records and activities, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares monthly reports on the departments community outreach activities and their community benefit values.
  • Monitors community outreach budget for accuracy and adherence to budget parameters.
  • Collaborates with the Corporate Communications divisions to promote the department's community outreach activities to both internal and external audiences.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective and positive relationships with appropriate internal stakeholders including the system boards and board of trustees, senior leadership, management, colleagues, volunteers, patients, visitors, etc...and external stakeholders including non-profit, charitable organizations, businesses, schools, associations and the community at large.
  • Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
  • Completes assigned goals.

Minimum Required

  • Minimum three years marketing, public relations or fundraising experience or experience working in charitable, non-profit organizations that provide or receive community services or health services.

Preferred/Desired

  • Five years experience

Education

Minimum Required

  • Bachelor's degree in mass communications, public relations, marketing or related field.

Preferred/Desired

  • Nursing or other health care degree with a focus on health care outreach, public health, etc.

Training

  • Able to use all Microsoft Office Suite software.
