An outpatient pharmacist works in a medical network to fulfill medication orders and refill prescriptions for new and returning patients who visit the clinic. As part of your responsibilities, you offer consultations to medical professionals to better assist patients with drug therapy, instruct patients on how to dispense and take their medications properly, fulfill new drug orders, and refill recurring prescriptions. Your duties also include reviewing patient medical histories to prevent drug interactions or problematic symptoms from occurring, collaborating with other pharmacists and the managing pharmacist, taking inventory of drugs and supplies, and updating patient records with their filled prescription orders.
